1.  As soon as i create a pvt room or enter another pvt room i can see the video cam and page but within 1 second i am taken to a screen that states "page not found 404 error"...and the tab says "problem loading page"

I am successful in getting into onya cam but unable to create my own room to chat or join other pvt rooms.

2. onya chat... is onya chat suppose to keep automatically going to another group chat if you do not press the next button.. it seems to be working that way....is is supposed to do that?

i have windows vista home premium sp2
firefox 3.6.3... or ie  8.0.6001
8 gig memory
amd quadcore 2.2 ghz
dl -20.16 ..ul  6.47

disabled mebeam and mybrowserbar.com from being blocked by disabling spyware doctor with no change
..are there other url's i should exclude as well?

Hi Mike,

- Just tested Mebeam, creating a room, no problems!
- Did you try Mebeam on another computer already?
- Clean up your browsers cache.
- Reset your modem/router.

- OnYaCam is just 'another twist' of Mebeam. It should
work like normal Mebeam does, but I don't support it.

thanks for the reply...

I did clear cache and reset router to no avail.
I also tried mebeam on 2 other computers on the same router and found both the same vista machine and an older xp machine worked just fine but for some reason the main computer i have gets to the 404 page not found error.
This leads me to guess that it is some option or setting on the problem computer that may be causing this to happen...  any other ideas along these lines?

Again, i do see the room just fine for a second or 2 but then it takes me to the 404 page not found (if that puts any light on the subject)

thanks for your help...
mike

Difficult to say what the reason of that behaviour is.
It could be that the the Mebeam Flash settings are
corrupt. Clean up the subfolders of the Macromedia
folder... delete there the *.sol files

If you have a system back-up, restore it and recheck.

Hi Mikesteel,

Before you do anything...Have a look with in your control panel >
program install/uninstall list.

If you see anything that is installed and is listed, that is related to
SQL server etc. Uninstall it, Then reboot and try mebeam again ?

In some instances M$ updates can install a server plugin file onto
users system by default.

hi, thanks

Did not find any sql items in programs/instal/uninstal.

However, I did solve the problem by downloading and using the google chrome browser with no trouble at all.

I imagine that some preference was being used in firefox or ie 8 that was needed to be adjusted... Chrome was installed by itself and no importing of controls from the other web browsers was attempted and worked properly from the first use.

I can investigate later which area or switch may be causing that symptom to occur.

thank you all for your help..

Your are welcome.

However you might see now why making a real
system back-up is so great and needed. The time
you need to investigate is much more than just
restoring a system back-up image, which can be
done in about 10-20 minutes... depending on the
used windows and hardware.

For support you should first upload your picture
as avatar. See the Mebeam FAQ page.

There is no such thing as 100% private and free.

Just use a room with an unique name, like:
jack12all_666093 or such and chances are as
good as nill to get unwanted persons in 'your'
room...

Hi Bishh,

Welcome to the forum, there is no need to panic.
There isn't anything wrong with your system.

Currently mebeam is going through some
"work in progress" changes, so you'll be
experiencing sporadic dropouts from time
to time with difficulty connecting to a room.

Hi,

I asked the developer and got an answer.

He is in the middle of changing servers, moving things over.
In the end of the week all should be stable again.
Sorry for the inconvenience...

Hello Fortra...

Many thanks for your prompt reply.  I should have mentioned
that I am using WebCamMax as my default webcam.  It does
open and "works" occassionaly. however, it drops my room very
frequently.  I'll await to see if the "new" changes "Mebeam" is
making correct my problem.  Thanks again

Hello Fortra....

Still experiencing "dropped" room (my own) when signing in
to Mebeam. My webcam (WebcamMax)sometimes opens
and sometimes it doesn't. If it does open and show, more
often that not the video dissapears, and I am left with a
white screen....very inconsistent!.....

Yes, your problem can just be the moving of Mebeam to other servers
and ISP. Reload the page a few times till Mebeam is working well.

This is a temporary issue and should be solved at the end of the week.
As this is done for reasons only the owner/developer knows, we can't
provide other/further information.
