I have red5 server and I'm building family web site.
I love to use mebeam on my personal web site to have video with my family members while on skype.
I tried open meetings and video whisper but I think that mebeam as simple is kind of what I would like.(free of commercials....)
Any chance I could get hands on this app to use it with red5?
Thank you

Please, read the Mebeam FAQ before posting.
In short:
Due to the fact that Mebeam is using a whole bunch of servers,
advertizing is the keyword to keep Mebeam free for the users.
The current Mebeam is not suitable to have it on your homepage.
There was a Mebeam MeServe example project. There is insufficient
info for it to fully realize it. Search this forum for MeServe, but there
is NO SUPPORT for it.

Is there a linux branch of meserve?
What do you mean by "whole bunch of servers"?
I have LAMP stack with red5.
Cant imagine what others are needed to get this done.
Could you tell me also what platforms utilizes your mebeam?
Thank you

You need your picture as avatar here! See FAQ.
Mebeam in it's current form uses a hughe array of servers.
Because I am not the developer nor owner, just moderator,
I can't say more about it.

hello, u4david
I'm using linux too (ubuntu 9.04), please can you give me your webcam model, it's says that the uvc webcam is better, I don't know, my actual very cheap uvc webcam (7 €uro) is very pixelized,I have to say that the resolution is very low 320x240 , see yourself;

not : if you think that your webcam is rather good, can your post a screenshot too, thank you so much in advance

As for your concern: You get the quality you paid for.
A €7.= webcam is like a toy. Nothing more...
If you want better, pay more for a decent webcam
and more important, use one with better optics too.
